Circle of Security Parenting

The Circle of Security Parenting® Program (COSP) is a curriculum based on 60+ years of attachment theory research started by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth in the 1950's which aimed to map and explain how one's attachment to their primary caregiver influenced how they were able to be in relationship to others, how they were able to manage emotions, and how happy they were in life.

This curriculum focuses on helping caregivers establish a nurturing, secure attachment with their children. We support caregivers in learning what it takes to be a secure base for their child, how important this is for their child's development and happiness, and how to identify when triggering moments occur based on their own upbringing and how to manage these "shark music" moments.

It is a powerful program that teaches crucial skills. I was fortunate enough to be trained to facilitate this amazing curriculum and love sharing these skills and information with as many parents as I can. I have seen it change lives, and it has helped me more than I can explain with my parenting my own child.

Mother and Baby

The curriculum consists of 8 sessions that are 1.5 hours in length. It was developed as a group model, but I am open to going through the material with individual families as well.

It is best if there are two caregivers in the family, that both are present for the groups.
